Mary-Ann Baldwin

Biography: Mary-Ann has more than 25 years of professional experience in the fields of journalism, marketing and communications. She has served in marketing roles for several professional services firms in the fields of health care, law and engineering. Previously, she was the director of corporate communications / community relations for the NHL Carolina Hurricanes and she served as communications director for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that, she was a journalist, having worked with Gannett Newspapers in Westchester and Rockland counties.
Aside from her professional career, Mary-Ann has been active in the Raleigh, N.C. community, serving as a volunteer in economic development organizations, arts organizations, and on the board of directors for such groups as Communities in Schools of Wake County and the American Lung Association.
Personal: Married to Jim; 24-year-old daughter. Member of Red Sox Nation. Enjoy NC State football games (the tailgating is great), cooking for friends, playing golf, skiing, and reading.
Spare Time: I serve on the Raleigh City Council as an at large member, and serve as our liaison to the State Legislature. So I don’t have any spare time!
Great Memory: I happened to be in Boston on business the night the Red Sox won the World Series in 2002. The celebration was unbelievable and I even managed to stay for the parade.
I Dream About: Meeting with Aneesh Chopra, the Obama Administration's Secretary of Technology, and talking about innovation.
