Gain Management Approval

After the process recommendation team has decided that ODI is the process to adopt, you will have to convince senior management and other key personnel that it is the right choice. Since this is one of the most important decisions senior managers will make during their tenure, they must understand the proposed process, be confident that it will work, and understand the plan for implementation. They must also understand how success will be measured. To this end, Strategyn offers an innovation capability assessment that will track progress along more than 200 critical metrics as defined through years of Strategyn research.

As approval is sought, keep in mind that senior managers will likely disagree as to what innovation is. Some may believe that innovation is ad hoc. Others may believe that process stifles innovation, or that the innovation process cannot be improved. Before gaining their support, senior management must progress up the same learning curve as those who selected ODI for adoption to begin with.
